SOMEBODY TO RUN TO

I've had a lot of things on my mind lately and they've been greatly troubling me
I can't get sleep coz I keep seeing them in my dreams (over and over again)
I don't see a reason why in such a troubled state is my life
Do you see what I mean?
And when the day is over and gone
And I'm heading on my way home
And I've got these blues overwhelming me
I wish I had, somebody, somebody to run to
Somebody to run to who understands my scene
Somebody to run to who'd see just what I mean
Somebody who'll lift my blues away

I've got dreams coming out of ears lately, just too many for me to handle
My head's ringing with ideas that'll take me there
If there were only so many hours in a day
This is what I've been breaking my head over over
It just had to come right now – all of it together
Do you see what I mean?
And when I get my act together
And when I get a hold of my dreams
And I can't contain the joy that comes along
I want to have, somebody, somebody to run to
Somebody to run to who'll jump with joy with me
Somebody to run to who'd dream these very dreams
Somebody who'd join me in this game

My feet are getting tired in the cold and the gloom
This world's so hard to be inspired by and there's no value for the soul
My heart is oh so weary coz time and time again I see
That nobody in their right mind wants to make the effort to be the one

You've got to hope for hope with hope before you can have any hope at all
You've got to cross that river to the other side of there lies your call
I just got to do what my heart tells me to
That's the only way I know to be

In the midst of the strong current
I don't want anybody's sympathy
This is my place, my war to wage
I'd like to find, somebody, somebody to run to
Somebody to run to who follows his heart with pride
Somebody to run to who'd fight right by my side
Somebody who'd stick with me all the way
